Our B'Mitzvah Philosophy

B'Mitzvah ceremonies represent a beginning and not an end to our students' young, adult Jewish Journey. At Har Shalom relationships are everything. Our students work directly with Rabbi Sommer studying on zoom, or if the schedule permits, at your kitchen table in the comfort of your own home. Students begin preparations 10-12 months prior to their mitzvah date with summer taken into account.

Fees:

A $5500 partner donation per child for a B'Mitzvah includes:

• 14 months Temple membership ($2500 value)

• Flexible tutoring in your home or on Zoom ($3000 value)

• Use of the Temple Beth El Sanctuary on available dates ($1200 value)

• Rabbi officiating the ceremony for your special day ($2000 value)

• Use of all prayer books and a Torah Scroll for ceremony ($1000 value)

• All materials ($30 value)

• Final Rehearsal week of Bar/Bat Mitzvah ($500 value)
   

This does not include any additional fees for security, web streaming or for alternate ceremony locations. Security and web streaming must be arranged and paid for to Temple Beth El prior to the week of your special event.

Temple Beth El's generous space sharing arrangement allows us use of the sanctuary for afternoon B'Mitzvah services. The social hall may be rented if available. Please click to email Jennifer or call 847-814-7456 to inquire about your occasion.
